San Diego’s own and our client Jen Guerin is one of the 10 finalists on the HGTV series “Design Star,” one of the network’s most popular shows. Starting with the season premiere on Sunday, July 19, at 10:00 pm, Jen and 12 other talented designers compete for the ultimate prize - their own design show on HGTV.

Growing up just a few miles from Canada, in Ishpeming, Michigan, Jen Guerin was eager to begin her studies at San Diego State University. After earning her degree in fine art, she became one of only 51 color consultants in the U.S. certified by the International Association of Color Consultation. Jen has been professionally trained in the science of designing color for architecture, light, and design, for any interior/exterior space, whether a home, office, industrial, or commercial development.

As owner of JG Color Studios, Jen’s expertise places her at the forefront of the color and design world. Jen is also an artist, specializing in wax pigments, multimedia art, decorative plasters and eco-friendly design. Her style is described as Bohemian and Baroque, with touches of 1960s-inspired modern. Very eco-conscious, Jen says that it's important to always "save it, re-use it or paint it."
